Influencer Marketing in Romania 2026: A Guide for Brands and Creators

Romania's influencer marketing market passed 60 million euros in 2025 and is growing by 25% a year. Yet 70% of collaborations between brands and influencers generate no measurable ROI: because of the wrong choice or unclear objectives.

Influencer ≠ a big follower count

Studies show that micro-influencers (10,000-100,000 followers) achieve an engagement rate of 4-8%, compared with 1-2% for mega-influencers (1M+). For local brands in Romania, 10 well-targeted niche micro-influencers frequently outperform a single mega-influencer in terms of ROI.

Types of influencers in Romania

Nano-influencers (1,000-10,000 followers)

A small but extremely loyal community. Engagement rate of 8-15%. Collaborations are often paid in barter (product). Ideal for local brands, testing and authenticity. The risk: limited reach, hard to scale.

Micro-influencers (10,000-100,000)

The sweet spot of the Romanian market in 2026. High engagement, niche-targeted audiences, reasonable prices (200-3,000 lei per collaboration). Most have built their audiences organically around a specific interest (fitness, cooking, travel, parenting).

Macro-influencers (100,000-1M)

Significant reach, average engagement (2-4%). Prices: 3,000-20,000 lei per post/story set. Suited to product launches with an awareness budget. Requires a clear creative brief and KPIs agreed in advance.

Mega-influencers and celebrities (1M+)

Massive reach, low engagement, high prices (20,000-100,000+ lei). Works for large brands aiming for brand awareness on a national scale. Direct ROI is hard to measure.

How to choose the right influencer

The structure of a good influencer brief

A clear brief = better content and fewer revisions. Include: the campaign objective, the key message (1-2 points), what must not be mentioned, the desired format (Reel/Story/Post), the deadline, the discount code or tracking link, and information about the product and how it is used.

Don't write the script word for word: the influencer knows what works for their audience. You set the direction, they bring the authenticity.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a collaboration with an influencer cost in Romania?

Nano (1k-10k followers): barter or 100-500 lei. Micro (10k-100k): 300-5,000 lei per post (an Instagram Story set: 200-1,500 lei; a Reel: 500-3,000 lei). Macro (100k-1M): 5,000-25,000 lei. Mega influencers and celebrities: 25,000-100,000+ lei. Prices vary enormously by niche, engagement and exclusivity.

How do I measure the ROI of an influencer collaboration?

A unique discount code per influencer (you measure sales directly), a trackable UTM link (you measure traffic and conversions in GA4), reach and engagement (brand awareness), and the cost per new follower gained. Accept that awareness is hard to attribute directly: assess the impact over 30-60 days after the collaboration.

What must be disclosed by law in influencer collaborations?

ANPC and EU regulations require paid or barter content to be clearly marked with “#Ad”, “#Advertising”, “#Collaboration” or “Content sponsored by [Brand]”. Omitting this disclosure is illegal and can lead to fines for both the brand and the creator.

Micro or macro influencer: which should I choose on a limited budget?

On a limited budget (under 5,000 lei a month), 5-10 micro-influencers targeted at your niche often outperform a single macro-influencer: more control, better-qualified audiences and a lower price per engagement. The risk is that coordinating several creators at once requires more management.

Are there local platforms for finding influencers in Romania?

Yes: The Influencer (theinfluencer.ro), a local database; Kolsquare, a European platform with data on Romania; and Instagram's branded content tools, directly in the app. Alternatively, search Instagram manually by niche hashtags (#mâncarebucurești, #fitnessbucharest) or work through specialised agencies.
